Alice Marie Starr Wint, 92, passed peacefully from this life on October 24, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Alice was born January 26, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to James Starr and Hazel Arkalian Starr. Alice married Sidney Wilson Wint November 25, 1942, in Argos, Indiana while Sidney was serving in the U. S. Navy. In 1943 she had their eldest son, Darryl. In 1944, she moved to Santa Monica, CA to be near her husband while he was still serving in the war. In 1946 their son Phillip was born.?Alice and her family lived in many places during their time in California and she and Syd retired to Caldwell, Idaho in 1972. After Sid's passing, she moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma to live with her son Phillip and his wife.?Alice was a giving, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a devoted friend to many. She retained close friendships for decades with people around the world. She excelled at cooking and baking, bringing joy to so many she shared her food with. She was an avid bridge player and was a passionate fan of Boise State, OU, and OSU football. She was an enthusiastic traveler and took countless cruises where she developed life-long friendships. Her last cruise was in January of this year and she had plans to go on a family cruise next month.?She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Steven, brothers, Harold Starr, Barney Starr and sister Ruth Starr Awald.
She is survived by her son Darryl and his wife Diana and son Phillip and his wife Kay. She is also survived by her dearest friend Jo Ann Lowe of Caldwell, Idaho.?A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First Christian Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sevier Funeral Home.
