Bessie's Story

Bessie Evelyn Woodward, 79, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, died peacefully on May 7, 2017, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital North Campus in Oklahoma City.
Born September 28, 1937 in Calumet Township, Indiana, she is predeceased by her parents Clyde Phillip and Bessie Perrymann of Appleton City, Missouri; a son, James Matthew Daniels of Grandview, Missouri, and her former husband William Matthews of Chickasha, Oklahoma, two sisters Ellen Eide, Margaret Perrymann and one brother Robert Perrymann of Adrian Missouri.
Evelyn was a retired Administrative Secretary and Grandmother living in Chickasha. She loved reading, horses, gardening, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent her last years enjoying time with her great grandchildren, researching family linage, and traveling. She loved to travel to Indiana and Missouri her remaining years searching for family artifacts.
Survivors include her younger sister, Shirley (Perrymann) Van Black of Lee's Summit, Missouri, two children Susan Marie Wilkerson of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Phillip Eugene Kimble of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her most favorite Son-in-Law, William "Billy" Wilkerson, seven grandchildren Jason Daniel, Charles Wilkerson, Ericka Moore, Jeannie Timmons, Jon Helgerud, Nikki Wilkerson, Krystal Kimble, and 11 wonderful great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the Eagles Lodge in Chickasha June 10, 2017 at 4:00 - 6:00 pm and burial at Fairlawn Cemetery Grady County, Oklahoma.
