A memorial service to celebrate the life of Billy Wyant will be Friday, February 23, 2018, at 2 p.m., at Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha, Brother Chuck Bishop officiating.
Billy Ray Wyant was born October 5, 1933, in Leveland, Texas, to Claude and Minnie Wyant. Billy passed away February 20, 2018, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 84. Billy was a 1952 Middleburg High School graduate and then went on to study Mathematics at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond before serving his nation in the United States Navy.
Billy married the love of his life, Shirley Terry, on May 23, 1958. Billy and Shirley's marriage of 59 years brought forth two sons then later three grandsons, three granddaughters, and five great grandchildren. Billy was known for his strong work ethic. Billy worked for King's Van and Storage, Grady County District No. 2, and Chickasha Walmart before finally committing to retirement in 2014 at the age of 81. Billy was a long time member of Maranatha Baptist Church where his love of the Lord and of his church family led him to serve as church Treasurer for many years. Billy enjoyed bowling and belonged to a Chickasha bowling league for a number of years. His other hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, Dominos, Sooner sports, and attending his grandchildren's athletic events.
Billy is survived by his wife, Shirley Wyant of Chickasha; son Greg Wyant wife Susan and daughters Lena, Michelle, and Madison of Dibble; daughter-in-law Kim Wyant of Oklahoma City; sister Lois Riggan of Piedmont; grandson Ryan Wyant and Jewell of Chickasha; grandson Heath Wyant and Samantha of Chickasha; grandson Kyle Wyant and Kelsey of Moore; and five great grand children, Brayden, Chloe, Jaiden, Titan, and Adalynn.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Minnie; brothers, George and Jerry; sister Armenta Wright; and his beloved son, Steve.
