Bryan's Story

Funeral service for Bryan Wyche, 70, of Elgin, Oklahoma, will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. There will be a reception held at the Fletcher Community Center immediately following the burial. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Wyche passed away on Monday, January 31, 2017 at his home in Elgin, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
Bryan Edward Wyche was born September 9, 1946 in Long Beach, California to William and Carol (Franklin) Meyers. When his mother remarried, Bryan was adopted by Robert Wyche. He grew up in Springfield, Colorado where he graduated from Springfield High School in 1964. After graduation, Bryan enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country during the Vietnam War. He served 3 tours in Vietnam as a Navy Seal, Naval Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot, and a POW survivor. After 17 years in the military, Bryan went to work as a Rural Route Carrier for the Chickasha and Anadarko Post Offices. He also flew test helicopters for Bell Helicopters of Amarillo. Bryan married Laquetta Mutz on May 21, 1983. He enjoyed farming, ranching, and riding bulls on the rodeo circuit. Bryan was a great man and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Laquetta Wyche, of the home; 2 daughters: Kristen Keltz and her husband Donnie of Washington state and Katie Sander of Arizona; 1 stepson, Mike Stephens and his wife Sonya, of Chickasha; 5 grandchildren: Derek, Devon, and Hobie Stephens and Kylie and Melyssa Whitener; 1 sister, Ruth Porter and her husband Bob, of Colorado; 1 nephew, Chad Wallace; and 1 niece, Caressa Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carol Wyche and William Meyers; his grandparents, Melton and Thelma Franklin; and 1 nephew, Trent Wallace.
