Carole Ann Carroll
Funeral service for Carole Ann Carroll, age 72 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 in the Holy Name Catholic Church. Father Jim Goins will officiate and Father Vara Prasad will assist.
Carole was born the daughter of Fred J. Marti, Jr. and Clara Joyce Demny Marti on December 16, 1944 in Baytown, Texas. She died on August 8, 2017 in Oklahoma City.
Carole graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas. She later graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelors and masters degree and was a graduate assistant. On May 23, 1970 she married John Carroll in Chickasha where she taught at OCLA. Carole also taught in the Chickasha School systems and retired in 2015 with twenty five years of teaching. During this time, she enjoyed the friendships she developed with her co-workers. She was also the pom coach and the girls golf coach at Chickasha High School for many years.
Carole was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Junior Social Workers, PEO, and enjoyed working with her flowers and garden. Carole enjoyed having to explain the uniqueness of her name and loved being a "MiMi" to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband John Carroll; son Chris Carroll and wife Lindsey; daughter Marti Smicklas and husband Brad; grandchildren Caroline Clara, Hudson Christopher, Harrison Houston; sister Martha Marti; brother Fred Marti and wife Sherry; nephew Todd Marti; nieces Debi Perras and Lori Godwin.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
