Eureka Julian

Eureka passed away April 30, 2019 at Grace Living Center in Chickasha, OK at the age of 99 years 4 mos.
She was born 12-29-1919 in Elmore City, OK to Jim B. Johnson & Mary E. (Lemons) Johnson.
She moved to Chickasha when she was 10 years old.
On May 7, 1937, she and Otho Newlin were married. Present were their best friends Cecil & Freda Sheridan. During their marriage they owned different businesses in Chickasha. Eureka was informed by her good friend Margaret Hinds that it wasn't stomach cramps, she was in labor! They had one daughter, Lynn.
Eureka was always proud of having served hamburgers and malts to the boys attending the Flight School when working at Crown Drug Store and tending to injured soldiers at Borden General Hospital during WWII.
On March 9, 1964, Eureka married George R. Julian in Ft. Collins, Colorado. They met while both were working for Continental Airlines. George was later transferred to Chicago. They lived in the Chicago area for 6 years then he was transferred to Houston where they lived for approx. 15 years. In the early 80's, they moved to Chickasha.
Eureka was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Mary Johnson, her brothers: Verdie O. Johnson and his wife Juanita, Bill A. Johnson and his former wife Margie, J. B. Johnson and his wife Mary, niece: Jo Ann Nichols, and grandson: Tommy W. Copeland, Jr.
Eureka is survived by: her daughter: Lynn Newlin Waldon and husband Bob, granddaughter Lisa Ann Stonehocker and husband Daryl, grandson: Michael Robert Waldon and husband Gary, all from Chickasha. She is also survived by absolutely wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends that never forgot her and always let her know how much she was loved. And she loved everyone in return.
We would like to thank everyone for their encouraging words and prayers. We would like to express a special thank you to Pastor David Thompson of The First Lutheran Church here in Chickasha, for your visits, talks, and prayers. That meant so much to her and to us. To Levi White, her friend and neighbor that was always there for her and his sister Rita. To everyone at Grace Living Center for the amazing care that you gave her. Also, to hospice, Grady ER and Southwest Medical Center.
My mom was beautiful, talented, feisty, fun, loving, and hardworking. We're going to miss her terribly. She had no doubt that she would live to be 100, but maybe this was God's birthday gift to her. Know she's having the time of her life right now! She is to be cremated and there will be no services.
