Jetta Long

Events

Jetta Joan Long, 83, of Oklahoma City, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2019.
Jody was born on June 9, 1936, in Gate, OK, where she was solely raised by her parents, Jesse Franklin and Henrietta Marie (Nichols) Sizelove. Jody began working for the U.S. Post Office in 1962, and then by 1967 she worked her way up to Postmaster and then was able to move to a larger office in Cleveland, OK, where she dedicated 10 years to her career. In 1982 she moved to Chickasha, OK to finish out her service as a Postmaster, which in 1992 led her to retirement.
While in her retirement she fulfilled her dream and opened a coffee shop with her daughters. Her love of cooking and baking was the talk of the town. Anyone that ever visited Jones Coffee House was definitely there for the famous chicken salad. She had many loves in life, but some of her favorites were playing bingo or the slot machines, as anyone that knew Mom, knew that that was her spot! She enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball games, but most of all; she loved cheering on her OU Sooners! (Boomer Sooner!!!)
She is survived by her daughter Angie Long of Oklahoma City, OK; son John and wife Wendy Wiseman of Carney, OK; daughter Pam and husband Cliff Moore of Rush Springs, OK; seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Jody was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1st at Council Road Baptist Church, 2900 N. Council Rd. Bethany, OK 73008 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be Tuesday, July 2nd at Gate Cemetery, Gate, OK at 1:00 pm under the direction of Absolute Economical Funeral Home.
