Joseph "Junior" Brandon, Jr.
Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Alex Cemetery, Alex, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Joseph Elbert Brandon Jr. (Junior) passed away on Friday January 12, 2018 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 94.  He was born March 19, 1923 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Joseph and Bessie Pearl (Clement) Brandon. 
He married Lorene Creswell on July 5, 1940 and lived in the Blanchard and Alex area his entire life.  In 1941 Junior went to work for Harmon Construction Co. helping construct barracks on the Naval Base in Norman, Oklahoma and later helped build the YMCA building at 5th and Robinson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; he also helped enclose the north end of the Oklahoma University Football stadium.  During this time Junior and Lorene moved from Blanchard to the farm when he bought out a neighbor's farming operation for $250.00. Junior later worked for Barber and Short Construction and Phillips Trading Post in Chickasha before moving to Alex, Oklahoma.  In 1960 Junior started his own construction and carpenter business.  One of the major projects completed in Alex was the remodeling of the old Alex High School building.  After finishing the job Junior was asked to continue working for the Alex Public Schools as the school maintenance and custodian, retiring after 15 plus years of service.  During this time Junior continued his farming and ranching operation with his sons. 
Throughout Junior's life he maintained a reputation of quality workmanship, integrity, and honesty.  In 2003 Junior and Lorene moved to Purcell, Oklahoma because of declining health to be near their daughter, Gayla Moore.  ?He is preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Lorene Brandon, his parents, a daughter, Junie M. Brandon, a grandson, Allan Garner Ramsey Jr., a brother, Don Brandon and a sister, Mary Paxton.  ?He is survived by his children:  Marquetta Lightner and husband Darrell, Dwight Brandon and wife Lillian, James Brandon and wife Teresa, Pamela Estes and husband Gary, Gayla Moore and husband Steve, Mark Brandon, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.?Condolences may be made at www.sevierfuneralhome.com.
