Margaret's Story

Margaret Eileen Sanders (73) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday evening, January 4, 2018, at her home in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Services will be held at Epworth Methodist Church, Chickasha, OK on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 1:00pm.
Margaret was born May 21, 1944 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas to Paul Dean and Elizabeth Hogan. She went to grade school at Our Lady of Guadalupe and graduated High school from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita. She lived in Kansas until 1976 when she moved to Oklahoma. Ninnekah has been her home for the past 41 years. Reading, Music Theater and lively discussions were a few of her favorite pastimes. During her lifetime Margaret was active in many civic organizations: Boy Scouts, Food Pantries, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross, Sunday School, AAUW, and music clubs, Red Hats, among others. She returned to school earning a Bachelors in 1988 from the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha and a Masters from Oklahoma City University in 1991. She worked many jobs in her lifetime and retired as an accountant in 2008 and again in 2015 as a Habilitation Training Specialist at the age of 70.
Margaret married Larry Lowe in 1962 and had three children (Chris, Kathy and David Dean). She married Don Sanders in 1973 and had one more (Steven). To these four were Don's four (Lisa, Risa, Bobby and David Scott). Eight children under one roof and never a dull moment.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mary Beth Schooler and Patrick Allen Hogan. She and Don leave behind a large family. Brother and Sisters Shirley (Sanders) & Douglas Ullum of Dodge City, Paul & Cheri Hogan and Beverly Jo (Hogan) Haynes of Wichita, Kansas. Children: Christopher & Deborah Lowe of Elgin: Katherine & Perry Wenzel and David Dean & Lori Lowe of Ninnekah; Lisa & Glen Hoge of Woodward; Risa & Bud Wasser of Pocasset; Bobby & Marla Sanders of Minco; David Scott & Kimberly Sanders of Chickasha; Steven & Marie Sanders of Waurika; and Debbie & Steve Keith of Phoenix.
Grandchildren; Nikki, Lindsey, Matthew Hoge; Kerri, Ryan, Eric Wasser; Brenton, Rebbeca, Chase, Bobby Jr Sanders; Barbara, Sherlyn, Royce, Elizabeth Lowe; Deserae, Justin Wenzel; Thomas, Tiffany, Shelby, Grant Sanders; Elizabeth, Justin, David Jr, Whitney Lowe; Carter, Wyatt Sanders; Michael, Thomas, and Katie Keith. 15 spouses of grandchildren. 82 total grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
