Funeral service for Mary Louise Eakins, 87, of Oklahoma City, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Chickasha, OK. Father James Goins will officiate. Wake service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Father Vara Prasad.
Mary Louise Stottman Eakins was born the daughter of Henry Hubert Stottman and Otillia Mary Noel Stottman on November 17, 1928 in Chickasha, OK. She died on July 4, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
Mary grew up in Chickasha and graduated high school from St. Joseph's Academy as Valedictorian. Except for a short time in Arkansas, she lived her whole life in Chickasha. She worked various retail jobs until her son James was born at which time she devoted herself to being a homemaker. Later in life she was employed with the American Cancer Society in Oklahoma City until her retirement. In 2014 she moved to Oklahoma City to be near her son. She was a strong, very active Catholic all her life and was a lifelong member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Chickasha, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Otillia Stottman; brothers George, Henry, John and Paul; sisters Anna, Rose and Florence; niece Mary Ann Miller.
Mary is survived by her son and wife James and Sherri Eakins of Edmond, OK; step-granddaughter Amanda Smith of Edmond; step-grandson Aaron Sams of Cave Creek, AZ; step-great-grandson Hunter Sams of Cave Creek, AZ; step-great-granddaughter Chloe Smith of Edmond; numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment is in Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha officiated by Father Vara Prasad. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
