Michael VanSant

A Celebration of Life service for Michael VanSant will be held at Hope Tabernacle Church in Chickasha Friday August 9, 2019 at 2:00pm.
Michael LeWayne VanSant was Born August 3, 1983 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Gary and Vileta (Pat) VanSant, he was born on his big sisters 3rd birthday. He was taken from his physical body August 5, 2019 at only 36 years old.
Michael graduated from Ninnekah High School and took to working construction as a general contractor. He is extremely loved in his family; Michael was one of the 13 grandchildren of His Maternal Grandmother Annie B. Williams who is 88yrs old. In 47 years, she has not lost one of her grandchildren. Michael loved his grandmother so much he would read her Watchtowers to her, joking with her and would always take her for walks when she wanted. Michael wasn't just a little brother to Brandy but a brother to the other 11 grandchildren, his passing has created a deep impact in all our little pact.
Michael would always be the one cutting up joking around with that mischievous sideways grin, he was the one that would no matter what you looked like always told you how beautiful you were, the one that if you were upset would give you the best hugs. He always said I loved you and if you had a nickname when you were young it didn't matter how old or grown you are he still used it. Bobo, Mia, Gigi, slugger. When Michael became an Uncle, he did not realize that his heart could get any bigger or proud. He loved his only Nephew Jonathan and Nieces Aleecia and Jasmine just like they were his. Michael 's heart grew even bigger and he was not prepared for the love he would have in it when his only daughter Audrey Renae was born 12 years ago. He loved his little girl more than life itself, no matter what anyone says, no matter what anyone does his baby girl was his world. Michael has held many titles in his life, ones like Son, Grandson, Brother, Cousin, Uncle, Daddy, Friend but the one that was the best of all was Family.
Michael was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather Leroy Wayne (Van) VanSant, Paternal Aunt Pat Tolliver, and Maternal Uncle Guadalupe Garcia Sr.
Michael is survived by his Father and Mother Gary and Vileta (Pat) VanSant. Sister and Brother-in-Law Brandy and Tristan Alexander. Daughter Audrey VanSant. Maternal Grandmother Annie B. Williams. Paternal Grandmother Lavada Kelsey, Nephew Jonathan, Nieces Aleecia and Jasmine and his childhood best friend Matt Word.
He is also survived by his Uncle Rusty and Aunt Diana, Aunt Lee, Aunt Elaine and Uncle Danny, Aunt Laura and Uncle Eddie. A host of extended family and In the hearts of 12 Lupe, Lena, Johnny, Lee, Slugger, Mia, Scott, Bobo, Gigi, Amber, Stephen and Brandy he will live forever as our Brother.

Our family vacation to Galveston when Michael went along had me and the kids in stitches the whole time.Matt had told him he needed to bring enough money to pay for all his meals and he said not a problem. At the end of our first dinner he asked Matt for a buck saying he was already tapped. We have laughed about that all these years. I told him it would be cheaper for me to put him on a bus rather than feed him the rest of vacation.

I met Michael VanSant when I was 10 years old. We moved to Southgate that summer and he became friends with my older brother, Matt, and younger brother, J.R. He was like the third brother, always teasing, laughing, and joking. We took him on family vacations and reunions. Christmas get togethers and Thanksgiving dinners often included Mikey. After everyone else abandoned my childhood nickname, Mikey still insisted I was "Mouse." He stayed close to Matt, they grew to be the best of friends, through school, fatherhood, and careers, Michael was a constant to Matt and my family. He was so proud when he became a father. There is no one else in this whole world like Michael. He will remain very ...loved. RIP MikeyRead more
