Funeral service for Nina Ferris, age 75 of the Verden and Anadarko area, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Verden First Baptist Church. Rev. David Bradley and Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate.
Nina was born the daughter of Lawrence Winn and Edna Alldridge Winn on April 26, 1941 in Verden, Oklahoma. She died on September 15, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Nina lived all her life in Verden and graduated from Verden High School in May of 1959. She married Billy Duane Ferris on December 12, 1959 in Verden. Nina was a secretary for Western Farmers Electric for thirty years. After retiring, she was church secretary for the Verden First Baptist Church. Nina was also a member of the Verden First Baptist Church. Later she was a lady of leisure and loved traveling with her daughter and shopping at Walmart to get her educational reading (The Enquire).
She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Edna Winn; husband Duane Ferris; two daughters Jeanette and Diana Ferris; sister Nadine Conn-Roberts.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise Wills and Mike Wills of Amber; granddaughters and husbands: Maranda and Joseph Shaffer of Chickasha, Amanda and Michael Miller of Tuttle and Amber and Travis Boevers of Chickasha; great grandchildren: Lyndzie, Paxton, Cade, Bryce and Randy; three sisters Alene Settle, Beverly Adams, and Naomi Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends.
Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
