Patricia Sikes

Patricia Sikes Patricia Cribbs Sikes (Pat) departed on her last great adventure on October 10, 2018.
In her waning days, she was comforted and found joy in remembering the beautiful people and wonderful events that have given meaning to a lifetime of 78 years.
She had fond memories of her parents, Bycie (Ford) and GC Cribbs who taught her the value of hard work, and a commitment to faith, family and community. They reared a blended family of nine siblings in and around Cyril and Apache, OK. Their examples can still be seen in a strong, hardworking extended family who continues to support and enrich each other and their communities. With much gratitude she relived 57 years of love and support from her husband Doug Sikes.
With much joy and pride she recounted the experiences of being a mother and grandmother. Thank you to son, Ty and grandson, Hunter of Ft. Worth, TX and to daughter Diana Gay, son-in-law, John Curless and grandson Jack of Greenwood Lake, NY.
Much gratitude was felt to the classmates, teachers and community leaders at Apache, OK for helping her to find self-worth and purpose.
She remembered with gratefulness the teachers and fellow students at OCW and OSU. They were a great benefit as she became the person she was.
She appreciated the co-workers and students at Lawton Middle School, Stillwater and Chickasha High School who taught her far more than she was ever able to teach them.
She smiled with pleasure as she recalled the 27 years with her home-based business-A Cottage Collection. Many friends and associates assisted over the years. She remembered with pleasure Sherry Cooper, whose friendship and assistance covered 10 years. More recently, Lana Tibbetts and Lynn Heck assisted with such kindness and companionship. Lynn Heck, a true Christian woman, gave her assistance with tender care and friendship getting her to chemo and other appointments over several months. Filling in with this from time to time was Jolene Singleterry, Janice Wells, Diane Anderson and Lana Tibbets.
There will be no services, but please celebrate her life in your own way. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Dear Pat was such a gracious lady. I enjoyed seeing her at the Tulsa Affair of the Heart twice each year. I bought many pieces of her beautiful OSU and Tulsa university clothing. We have missed her smile. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I have always thought the world of your mom Pat Sikes. She was a great Christian and her husband and she did such good work at north side church of Christ not ignoring how I met her at central . My parents always thought your parents were a good match when it cane to leading that congregation that’s why they started going there when they guilt the new building on country club . I will miss her my thoughts go with you during this trying time

She was a special lady...I learned so much from her. She was my teacher in high school, and still to this day I put into practice many of the things she taught. She made a difference in so many people’s lives.
