Patricia Ann Thurman was born the daughter of Fredrick Homer Hollums and Gladys Saunders Hollums on June 8, 1944 in Chattanooga, TN. She died on February 6, 2019 in Chickasha.
Pat married John Albert Shropshire on November 17, 1962 in Ringgold, Georgia. Her son John Tandy Shropshire was born to this marriage. She married Barney Thurman on February 13, 1968 in Ringgold, Georgia. To this marriage, son Christopher Wade Thurman was born. Pat moved from Chattanooga to Chickasha in 1971. She was known to her boys as Moma, and Grannie Pat to all her grandchildren. She loved her boys, thought the world of her grandkids and her great-grandkids could do no wrong. She was the first to open up her home to anyone at any time. When her granddaughters were little she spent the night every Christmas Eve to wake up Christmas morning with them. Almost every night after work she would come to see them and eat her dinner saved especially for her. Every Sunday morning she stopped by for coffee with her daughter-in-law before going to work. Grannie never told her boys or grandkids no. The girls could call her at any time and she would get out and go get them to stay the night. She loved to be a part of anything her girls were doing. Grannie loved to give her girls a hard time about "frosting" their hair. Pat worked many places over the years, Shoneys, Sentry Manufacturing, Wal-Mart and many beauty shops. Often times she worked two jobs. She enjoyed her time doing hair at Nowata Gardens and Chickasha Nursing Center.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick Homer and Gladys "Snookie" Hollums; grandparents Boyd and Freddie Saunders; sisters Rita Hollums and Diane Shirley; special nephew Kenneth Shropshire; special Oklahoma mother Ive Boswell, whom Pat thought the world of.
Pat is survived by son Johnny and Pam Shropshire of Chickasha; son Chris and Candace Thurman of Apache; granddaughters Tandi and Steve Carlile, Lindsey Shropshire and fiancé Alexander Ford, Erika Shropshire and fiancé Dusty Venable, and Brooke and Bryce Palmer all of Chickasha; Grandson Kyler Thurman of Apache; Great-grandsons Brayden McMahan, John Kyle McMahan, Boston Shropshire, Kingston Carlile "Monkey Butt," Brooks Venable, Jenna Harper and Bryden Ford, Kyler, Kaleb and Kasen Venable; Nephews Sam "Skipper" Shirley and Bonita, William "Tiny" Shirley and Tyrone "Rusty" Houser and Pam; along with several great-nieces and nephews; special daughter-in-law Johnna Stephens; special grandsons Judd and James Stephens; and special son Daniel Terry.
