Ramos Francis

Ramos Francis Funeral service for Ramos Roger "Reno" Francis will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday January 8, 2019 at the Ninnekah Church of Christ. Thomas Wood will officiate.
Ramos Roger Francis was born March 21, 1947 in Eufaula, OK. He died January 3, 2019 in Chickasha.
Reno grew up in Stidham, OK where he graduated from high school. He then attended Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, KS for a year. During his lifetime he had many jobs including welding, furniture upholstery and refinishing, roofing, lawn care and electrician's apprentice. After moving to Chickasha he worked at Chickasha Manufacturing and Oklahoma Folding Carton in Minco. He was a runner and an avid sports fan who loved to play softball. He loved to go fishing, especially with his grandchildren, and playing board games. Reno was very proud of his native heritage and was quite active in the sweat lodge. He was a funny man who had a positive outlook on life. He could find the humor in any situation and was well known for his friendly smile. Reno was unquestionably dedicated to his family.
Reno was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one granddaughter, Savanna.
Reno is survived by his wife Verna Francis; children by marriage Thomas and Jennifer Wood; Skye and Warren Custer; and Dusty Wood; and grandchildren Dawson, Holly, Jimmy, Caleb and Gabriel.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Verna, I am so sad that you lost your beloved husband Reno. He meant so much to your and your children and filled that niche in your lonely life as much as he filled your niche. Your sons, daughter, and grandchildren will never forget him and his love for them. Though you and he were together only a short time, you both loved a lifetime's worth. You are in my heart and prayers, Verna. God bless.

Even though I never met Reno in person, I have seen the joy he brought Verna, his wife and my cousin and her children and grandchildren. Thank you, Reno for the many years of happiness you brought to the Wood family. I hope to see you in heaven with the wind in your hair and the light of Truth shining in your eyes! Love, Mary Ellen

I remember Reno from him being friends with my son Dan. They shared an unususal bond helping one another endure through some trying times. But they both endured. I loved our times with Reno&Verna;&their; family when we would play Our version of Vollyball &we; all had some fun times and created great memories. What I knew of Reno he was a quiet man didn’t say much but had a warm friendly smile. And so handsome. We had in common our Native American Heritage&I pray for your family you will be able Verna especially to keep thinking of the good memories &look; forward to seeing Reno Truly Free&happy; when you see him in the resurrection so soon to come. Reno is only asleep in death for a short ...time because Jehovah through his son Jesus WILL resurrect Reno shortly when GOD’s Kingdom government that we pray for in the Lord’s Prayer takes over this earth with a righteous rule &all; these other governments will be no more. Daniel2:44-after that which is gonna happen so soon then Verna you will be with Reno again so soon in a happy new world on earth with no more death, sickness,or sorrow. Rev21:3,4. And that is a PROMISE we can count on. Love ya’l hang in there the BEST is yet to comeRead more
