Reba Flood

Funeral services for Reba Jean Flood, 80, of Verden, OK were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Verden First Baptist Church. Rev. Troy Taylor officiated and Rev. David Bradley assisted.
Reba Jean Flood went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends. She was born to the late Walter and Myrtle Singleton on November 2, 1938.
Reba was born in Gracemont and attended Verden Grade School and graduated from Verden High School in May, 1956. She attended one year of college at USAO in Chickasha (formerly OCW). She was born again in August, 1967 at Yukon First Baptist Church. She moved to Chickasha in 1970 where she lived for one year before moving to Verden in 1971. She worked several places including Oklahoma National Bank and Public Service Company in Chickasha; First National Bank in Yukon; American Optical Company in Chickasha and Verden Public Schools as secretary to the superintendent for 15 years. She volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center and Grady Memorial Hospital as well. Reba was an active member in the community and was a lifelong member of Verden First Baptist Church where she actively served as a Sunday School teacher and worked with the youth for over 20 years.
Jesus, family and friends were Reba's passion and delight. She grew up riding the family horse, "Old Bell," with her siblings and cousins, chopping cotton and milking cows on the family farm. She loved doting over her grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. She was recognized for her "tall" hair and her "red" lipstick. Many a child and adult alike have left her presence with her lipstick on their cheek. She was a faithful child of God and a sweet lady that will be greatly missed by everyone.
Reba is survived by her husband of 34 years Charles "Eddie" Flood; her brothers Richard Singleton and Larry Singleton; her sisters Roberta Smith and Rojena Bare; and her foster brother Jack Bullard; her two kids Rene Sanders and husband Scott and Kyle Finley and wife Diane; her seven grandchildren Aaron Sanders, Seth Sanders, Canaan Sanders, Ashley Dempsey, Chelsie Woolcott, Bryce Finley, and Austin Finley; great-grandchildren Teagan Finley, Monroe Sanders, Amos Sanders, Wren Sanders, Gabriel Dempsey, Colin Dempsey and Cassie Woolcott. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to especially thank all of those who shared their time, love and care for Reba.

So sorry to hear of Reba’s passing. She was always a special lady to me. Remembering how good and kind she was to me at Bart’s passing.
