Robert's Story

Robert (Bobby) S. Kolar, 90, passed away January 8, 2018, in Ocala, FL. He was born May 26, 1927, in Oklahoma City, OK.
He served his country in the US Navy, was a volunteer Nicoma Park firefighter, and the State of Oklahoma Commissioner (Oklahoma Used Motor Vehicle + parts commissioner). He also previously owned B&B Auto Salvage, B&B Mini-Storage, and A&Z Metal Salvage.
His favorite hobbies were fishing, biking, and traveling.
Robert is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mia Bevill-Kolar. His sister, Wilma Pojezny; brother-in-law, Michael Bevill; sons, Danny West and Robert (Bobby) Kolar II; daughter, Terry Wester; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Willibald Kolar; mother, Tillie Vellek-Kolar, his first wife, Velma Jean West-Kolar; brother, Wilbur Kolar; and sisters Doris Gate and Sylvia Cooper.
Robert's family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Ocala staff for taking such wonderful care of Bob for the last three years, and we thank the Hospice of Marion County for making him comfortable until his passing.
In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Hospice of Marion County, or the American Stroke Foundation.
