Thelma Louise Parsley
Services for Thelma Louise Parsley, 97, of Gordonville, TX are set for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, in the Merrick Drive Church of Christ, Ardmore, OK, with Bro. Bob Smee officiating. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, will follow under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, OK.
Mrs. Parsley was born May 14, 1920 in Chickasha, OK, the daughter of William F. McClintock and Janie Weaver McClintock. She passed away Tuesday, August 22, in Plano, TX in the Lexington Place Assisted Living.
Thelma was raised in Alex, OK and after graduating from Alex High School attended the University of Oklahoma and Abilene Christian College. She married Coy Parsley from Lindsay, OK, and the couple was happily married for more than 50 years. They were the parents of three children. Thelma helped create a happy home with Coy. The family were ranchers, raised cattle, grew crops, and alfalfa hay. Her hobbies were playing tennis, designing and sewing clothing and home goods. Her primary joy and interest was being a good wife and mother and leading a Christian life. She attended the Church of Christ all of her life. Thelma was an avid reader of the Bible and attended church regularly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers, Glenn McClintock, Judd McClintock, and Virgil McClintock; and sister, Ladonna Shirwise.
Survivors include her two sons, Barry Lynn Parsley of Gordonville and Coy Curtis Parsley of Ardmore; daughter, Diane Parsley Riley of Byfield, MA; five grandchildren, Larissa Parsley Danforth, Shelise Parsley, Natalie Parsley, Bret Riley, and Cara Riley Doran; and six great-grandchildren.
