Tommy Hammons, Jr

Events

Tommy Gene Hammons, Jr. was born on July 22, 1961 and passed away on June 19, 2019.
He was born to Tommy Gene and Mary Ann (Neeld) Hammons in Chickasha, OK; where resided his entire life.
He was more affectionately known by Buddy. He was his mama's "little Buddy".
He grew up roaming the blocks around 18th and 19th Streets in Chickasha. He attended Chickasha Public Schools and worked in various places around town. The last job he held was at Wal-Mart where everyone knew his name. Honestly, he probably enjoyed visiting the people who were shopping than he got any work done. He was a hard worker.
Some may know him from working at the Opportunity Workshop. He rode around on a little blue moped scooter.
Some of you may know him from his awesome bowling skills. He was never one to turn down a game.
He liked a good cup of coffee. He spent many days drinking coffee with his dad.
He kept up on the restaurants in town. He kept up on the happenings going on around him. He read the newspaper and watched TV so he knew what was going on.
He was an avid FRIENDS fan. He was well versed in all things WWE. He found Netflix to be one of the greatest inventions ever. He loved watching movies. He would send text messages with all the bells and whistles, GIFs and memes he could find. And then laugh real loud at his own joke.
He was given a hard road in this life. Although, he would not tell you that. He went to school, went to work, traveled, enjoyed his family gatherings and lived all the moments he could with gusto. He was a very social guy. There are not too many places he would go without knowing somebody and visiting with them for awhile.
He was with us for 57 years, 10 months and 28 days. The world seems a little less now.
Buddy was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and his daddy, Tommy.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann, and brother, Tracy, of the home. His sister and brother in law, Susie and Danny Howell, of Chickasha. Nieces; Leslie Neal and husband Joe, Maloree Hammons and Ashlee Hammons. Nephews; Noah Willard and wife, Sandy, Blake Howell and wife, Emily and Brayden Howell. Great nieces; Ainsley Neal, Millie Neal, Kyntli Willard, Kambelle Willard and Kaisyn Forsythe. Great nephews; Crew Willard, Isaac Neal, Tucker Howell and Braxton Howell. Special friends and traveling buddies; Judy Hicks and Julie Davis. Numerous uncles, aunts and cousins...and many, many friends he loved as if they were his family.
The family would like to especially thank Lifeline Home Health Care, specifically Robert and Carlotta.
Arrangements for Buddys Celebration of Life are to be held at a later date.
