A Memorial Service for Daniel Ray Christian, 59, of Chickasha was held on Monday, April 10, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Danny was born on November 27, 1957, and passed away on April 6, 2017, from a rare form of terminal cancer.
Danny was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1973, and remained a faithful, active member of the Chickasha Congregation until his death. As a Jehovah's Witnesses, Danny enjoyed helping people learn about the Bible. He was also able to join in volunteer work, building new Kingdom Halls all over the state, as well as doing disaster relief after tornadoes and floods in the area.
Danny grew up in Chickasha. He attended Chickasha schools, but dropped out of high school to work with his dad. He married Karen Goodwin of Alfalfa on March 20, 1976. They raised two daughters, Kyla and Dinah.
Danny learned roofing and construction from his dad growing up, and eventually took over the family business. He really enjoyed building things with his hands, especially cabinets. Danny had a reputation for being an honest and hard worker.
In 2001 Danny became an Independent Insurance Adjuster, which work he continued to do until last year.
Danny loved the outdoors. As a child, he went on many trips to Colorado with his family in the summer to get away from the heat. When he had a family of his own, he loved to take Karen and his girls hiking and camping.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Lem Doyle Christian. He is survived by his mother Rita Christian, his wife Karen Christian, daughters Kyla Baldazo and husband Eric, Dinah Baldazo and husband Alex, sisters Sherry Sanders, Mary Brown, and Lori Ann Soileau, brothers Lem Christian and Steve Christian, along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and many, many friends.
Danny's joyful personality and great sense of humor has touched many lives. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
