Gregory Dale Chilton was born on November 23, 1966 to Jerry Chilton and Esther (Riley) Simmons; he passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the age of fifty.
Greg attended Minco Public Schools until his junior year of high school, graduating from Lahoma Public Schools. He started college in 1985 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and graduated in 1991 with his degree in education. He later earned his master's degree in administration from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
Greg began his teaching career in Carter, Oklahoma where he also coached for two years, from there he coached and taught at Verden Schools for three years and Union City Public Schools for five years. Greg was currently working on his sixteenth year at Chickasha Public Schools.
He is survived by his three children; Zach Chilton and wife Melissa and their son (Papa G's pride and joy) Luke, MacKenzie Hyde and husband Trey and Riley Attaway and husband Calep, his parents Jerry Chilton and wife Carole of Minco and Esther Simmons and husband Floyd of Ft. Cobb. One remaining brother Shane Chilton of Minco, two step-brothers; Nick Simmons of Mustang and Neal Thompson of Stillwater, a step-sister; Carla Griswold of Norman along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his sister Devena Lingle and husband Steve Lingle.
Greg will be remembered for his giving loving heart, his quick wit and ability to make people laugh, his outgoing friendly nature, his love for his family, friends and of God, and his beauty inside and out.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 10am at the First Baptist Church of Pocasset, burial will follow at the Pocasset Cemetery, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
