Harry A. Orahood was born in Chickasha, OK to Wayne and Dorothy (Wynkoop) Orahood on October 18, 1922. He grew up in Chickasha where he played football, basketball, baseball, and track, and graduated in 1940. Harry served in the Army for 20 months in North Africa with the 423rd M.P.&G Company. He married Nettie Rose Bohn on Nov 24, 1946. They had two children, Vicki and Cheryl. He earned his HVAC Engineering Degree and worked in the heat and air industry for many years. He retired as service manager for Carrier Distributors. In June of 1981 Harry lost his first wife Nettie. He married Dorothy McDonald in 1982 and were members of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang. In 2002 they moved to OKC and were members of Britton Baptist Church. Harry enjoyed watching football, baseball, and car racing. He was talented at restoring vintage classic cars. Harry found joy in adopting rescue dogs. The family will remember Harry as kind, compassionate, faithful, and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Nettie, his second wife Dorothy, his sister Sharon (Orahood) Lyell. He is survived by his children, Vicki (Steve) Wilcox of OKC, and Cheryl (Steve) Woodruff of Virginia Beach, VA; his stepchildren, Steve (Jackie) McDonald, Sandy (Gerald) Best, all of Broken Arrow OK; three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren, a nephew, a niece, and a great niece and nephew. Services will be held Wednesday, July 20 at 10:00 A.M. at Britton Baptist Church, 1141 W. Britton Rd.
