Ingrid Yvette Vernon
Ingrid Yvette Vernon departed this world to join her Heavenly Father on April 20, 2016.
Ingrid was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1957 to Leon and Verla Vernon. Her grandparents, Albert and Nellie Vernon and Joe and Edith Wood all had been long-time residents of Chickasha, OK.
Ingrid graduated from Cameron University in Lawton, OK. She became a teacher and taught in Duncan Public Schools but later found her true calling as a Social Worker in Stephen's County. She later transferred to DHS in Chickasha, OK. where she worked until the time of her death.
Ingrid had a very strong determination to survive and had battled cancer since 2002. Her doctors at Cancer Treatment of America in Tulsa, OK. considered Ingrid to be a miracle. Her faith never faltered and she continued to spread joy and love to coworkers, friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, Leon and Verla Vernon, a daughter, Natalie Goldberg, a son Aaron Goldberg and 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Jada, and Kalen.
Being a sharing person all her life, Ingrid donated her body to medical science. Her ashes will be returned to her daughter then a memorial will take place according to her wishes.
