Kenneth's Story

Kenneth Troy Campbell, of Chickasha, Oklahoma was born November 07, 1938 in Chattanooga, Oklahoma to William and Bonnie Campbell and died December 12, 2016 in his home of Chickasha, Ok.
He was raised in Lawton, OK and graduated from St. Mary's High School, in 1958. Ken was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961. He served 2 years active duty and 4 years inactive duty.
In November 1963, while visiting a sister in California, Ken met Myra Lou Kindred. They later married on January 17, 1965, and resided in Glendale, California until March 1966, when they moved back to Lawton. In 1970 Ken became the Administrator of the old Waurika Hospital in Waurika, OK, where he was very instrumental in helping build the new hospital. In 1972, he became the first Purchasing Agent for Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where he developed the first central purchasing department. Later, he worked at the Anadarko Municipal Hospital and then Maremont Corporation until 1983. He had a video recording business and became the video photographer for the Chickasha High School football team for several years. He finished his career as a contract driver for the Charles Allen Ford dealership until he finally retired in 2007.
Kenneth and Myra were blessed with two daughters, Cynthia Lynn and Katharine Sue. He played a very active roll in both his children and grandchildren's lives. He was a coach for two years at the beginning of the Soccer Little league in Chickasha. He also had parts in USAO theater productions of "Scrooge" and "Oliver".
Ken had accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and was born again in 1975.
His parents, his grandparents, one sister, and two brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors include: Myra (his wife of 52 years) of the home; 2 daughters Cynthia Lynn Turner and husband Dennis, of Amber, Oklahoma and Katharine Sue Miller of Chickasha; 3 Grandchildren Tosha Marie Powell and husband, Perry, of Moore, Oklahoma, Matthew Joel Turner of Amber, and Jimmy Don Miller, Jr. of Chickasha; three great grand-daughters, Ella, Cora, and Carlee Powell, of Moore, OK. Also surviving him is one sister, Sue McCarthy of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister-in-law- Ruth Jahner of CA; brother-in-law, Matt Kindred and wife, Becky, of West Jordan, Utah; several nieces and nephews.
Ken's final wishes were for his body to be donated for science research.
