Funeral services for Larry Joe Owens, 64, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at the New Life Christian Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Ezell Nelson officiating.
Larry Joe Owens was born on July 19, 1953 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of James Owens Jr. and Hope Ann (Schafers) Owens. He died on September 14, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Larry grew up in the Chickasha area.  He attended school at Friend until the 8th grade then Amber-Pocasset where he graduated in 1972.      
Larry married Dianna Boatwright on September 6, 1974 and to this union his two children, Jeremy and Cherie, were born.
Larry had many hobbies and interests.  They included fishing, John Deere tractors and spending time with his grandchildren and family.  Larry was a member of the New Life Christian Church.     
Larry was at Maramont and later Gabriel for over 20 years. He later worked for Standridge Equipment.   
He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Sherry Jean Owens and brother, Richard Owens.
Survivors include his son, Jeremy Owens of Chickasha, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and Nicholas Garmon of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Iain and Avie Garmon of Norman, Oklahoma; mother, Hope Owens of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Gary Steelman of Amber, Oklahoma; sister, Elaine Merrifield of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, John and Cherris Owens of Minco, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law , Joan and Dave Koos of Norman, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law Irene and Karl Lehew of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and other extended family and friends.
