Lorene C. Brandon

Lorene C. Brandon, 91, of Purcell, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Oklahoma City. The daughter of Walker Harmon Creswell and Mary Margaret (Callahan) Creswell, she was born February 13, 1925 in Middleburg, Oklahoma.
Lorene married J.E. Brandon, Jr. on July 5, 1940 in Blanchard, Oklahoma and they moved to Alex in 1960. She was a homemaker and was a member of Trinity Holiness Church in Blanchard where she taught Sunday School for many years, from the Card Class to the Ladies Bible Class. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking homemade desserts, sewing, quilting and embroidery. Lorene's greatest enjoyment was doing things for her family and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Junie M. Brandon; a grandson, Allan Garner Ramsey, Jr; five sisters, Lena Moore, Letha Moon, Rose Terry, Marie White, and Jane Williams; and two brothers, Richard and Archie Creswell.
Lorene is survived by her husband, J.E. "Junior" Brandon, of Purcell; three daughters, Marquetta Lightner and her husband, Darrell, of Chickasha, Pam Estes and her husband, Gary, of Blanchard, and Gayla Moore and her husband, Steve, of Purcell; three sons, Dwight Brandon and his wife, Lillian, of Chickasha, James H. Brandon and his wife, Teresa, of Alex and Mark Brandon of Alex; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren: 5 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Barnes and her husband, Bob, of Nevada; and many other loved ones and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Trinity Holiness Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma.
