Funeral service for Patricia Maxine Stewart of Amber, OK will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 in the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel.
Patricia was born April 24, 1930 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Maxey and Mary (Gottberg) Wood. She went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Amber, Oklahoma at the age of 85.
She was raised in Shawnee but resided with her parents in many towns. She spent many wonderful summers with grandparents on Petitjean Mt., Arkansas. She graduated from Lexington High School. She married William Joseph Stewart of Lexington and to this union 3 children were born, Barbara Ann, Carolyn Sue and David. She and Bill attended Church of Christ in Lexington. Pat was a Sunday school teacher and taught at vacation bible school every summer. As a teenager she was active in the International Order of The Rainbow for Girls and later was a homeroom mother at Lexington grade school and helped at many school functions. She was an active member of the PTA in Sherman, Texas. She was a Camp Fire Girls leader for many years and was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Mother. She enjoyed water sports, reading, sewing and gardening. She worked at several banks throughout the state and was instrumental in her husband's business success. She raised her grandson, Billy Stewart of Amber. Patricia attended business school at U.S.A.0. She was a generous supporter of many charities. She loved animals and rescued many that she gave homes to.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Carolyn Sue; parents: Mary and Maxey Wood; and a brother, Phillip Wood of Anchorage, Alaska.
She is survived by 2 children: Barbara Kennedy and David Stewart; grandchildren: Billy Stewart, Janece Seay, William E. Stewart, Max Stewart, and Matthew Stewart Kenndy, 5 great grandchildren: Alexandra, Allison, Addilyn, Adam Stewart and Parker Ivy McGinley
Interment will be in the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. www.sevierfuneralhome.com.
