Funeral service for Phyllis Dianne (Milam) McDonald, 70, of Sterling, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2016, at the Grand Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Rogers and Pastor Larry Hatfield, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. the Fletcher Funeral Home.
Mrs. McDonald passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at her home in Sterling, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
Phyllis Dianne (Milam) McDonald was May 9, 1945 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Gordon Ray and Vallie Ruth (Blankenship) Milam. She started school in Miami, AZ before graduating from Sterling High School in 1964. After high school, she went to Draughon's Business School in Wichita Falls where she obtained her degree in 1965. She worked on Ft. Sill as a civil servant for 38 years. Dianne married Bob J. McDonald on February 4, 1972. The couple was married for 44 years. They built their home in Sterling shortly after getting married and have lived there ever since. Dianne and Bob attended Grand Assembly of God Church in Chickasha where she enjoyed doing her puppet ministry for over 20 years. Dianne was a wonderful woman and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bob J. McDonald, of the home; 1 brother, Gordon Lee Milam and his wife Judy, of Sterling; 1 sister, Gwyn Elaine Steele, of Duncan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Gordon Ray and Vallie Ruth Milam; her maternal grandparents: Tom and Ruby Blankenship; and her paternal grandparents: Gene and Edna Milam.
