Memorial Services for Tommy L. Brackeen, 77, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday July 20, 2016 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.
Tommy Brackeen was born in Wayne, Oklahoma on April 4, 1939, the son of Arthur Carrol Brackeen and Lela (Russell) Brackeen. He died on July 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
He lived in Wayne until the age of 13 years old. Then his parents purchased a grocery store in Chickasha. He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1958.
Tommy and Mary met in 1968 and then married on June 3, 1970. They were married for 46 years, until he passed away.
He worked in various jobs along with a seismography crew. Tommy worked as a service manager for Melton Motors and a Ford place in Anadarko for 14 years. He then became self-employed. Tommy owned a service station, wrecker service and also owned a car lot. He retired in 1997 and started detailing cars from his home until his health failed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Vera Mae Barr and one brother, Bobby Brackeen.
Tommy is survived by his wife Mary of the home; three children, Tom and Elizabeth of Chickasha, Judy Walley of Chickasha and Don and Essie Williams of Boone, North Carolina. Tommy had ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and various nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family at Liberty National Bank, Chickasha, in honor of Tommy Brackeen.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
