Billy Burt Burns (Bill) Obituary

Marlow, OK - Billy Burt Burns, 65, was born to Leonard Jonah (Pedro) Burns and Flora Ida Mae (Wright) Burns on May 24th, 1959 in Cyril, Oklahoma as the youngest of 7 children and passed into eternal paradise on April 24th, 2025 in Marlow, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Bill grew up on the family farm where he attended Cement Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1977. From a young age, Bill held a special interest in the world around him, soaking up every piece of information he could on how things worked. This is what propelled him into his love for creating, building and repairing. Over the years, Bill accomplished many things from a 25+ years tenure at the Delta Faucet Company to owning The Old Colorado Trading Post, BB's HVAC and so many things in between. Bill was a believer in lending a helping hand to those in need and a lover of watching people succeed. He will forever be remembered as a family man and a faithful believer in Jesus Christ.

In 1978, he married Pamela Warren and to this union was born his daughter Emily Louise. He was a resident of Chickasha, Oklahoma until 2002 when he moved to Colorado and married Suzanne Harper. There he worked for the Coca-Cola Company and the Colorado Department of Corrections. In 2009, Bill and Sue moved back to Oklahoma to make their home in Marlow. He became a Papa for the first time in 2003 to Matthew Ace and again in 2015 to Jordan Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emily's mother, sisters Manetha Justice and Anna Mae Fulton, and brothers Charlie Burns and David Burns.

Those left to remember him are his wife, Suzanne Burns, daughter, Emily Burns-Bradley and husband Martin Bradley, grandson, Matthew Burns, granddaughter, Jordan Burns-Gonzales, sisters, Dovie Thompson and husband John Wayne Thompson, Geraldine Baker, sisters-in-law, Tanya Burns and Vicki Burns, brother-in-law, Bruce and Justice, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service for Bill is planned on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, 2pm, at the Glory Bound Church in Marlow, OK. In lieu of flowers, Bill would have appreciated donations made to advancing research on rare cancers with the American Cancer Society.
