Dr. Don H. Shamblin, age 86, passed away on January 15, 2025, in Richfield, Ohio. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Don was preceded in death by his loyal wife of 53 years, Martha "Gaye" Shamblin (Golden) 2010, his daughter, Kristy Mirza (Shamblin) 2007, and his sister, Mary "Jeanie" Rice (Shamblin) 2015. He is survived by his three children: Rebecca Shamblin (Joe Kuntz); Jason Shamblin (Allison); and Andrew Shamblin (Nicole). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, along with his companion of over 10 years, Marilyn "Sue" Foster.

Don earned his PhD from Buffalo State University in New York and dedicated his professional life to education as a Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Ohio University and was a published author.

In retirement, he remained a resident of Athens, Ohio finding joy as an active member of several barbershop choirs and volunteered locally as a Master Gardener.

A private service will be held with the family on a separate occasion.
