Janice Kay Plumley (Janice) Obituary

El Reno, OK - Janice Kay Plumley was born December 8, 1947. She passed away peacefully, June 19th, 2025, in El Reno Oklahoma, surrounded by the people she loved. Janice was the daughter of Raymond Ruskin Stovall and June Evelyn (Banta) Stovall.

Janice was a graduate of Minco High School. She married and soon became a young mother to three sons. Later she returned to her studies, becoming a certified paralegal, and proudly spent many years working with some of Oklahoma's most respected attorneys and law firms.

She was a skilled seamstress, and you could often find her crafting beautiful clothing, drapes, and upholstered items.

Janice was a devoted servant of God, helping to establish St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. She loved singing in the choir, teaching classes, fellowshipping, and helping many who were searching for a new church home.

Janice loved life and her family. She gave her all to them freely and with selfless concern. She adored keeping her grandchildren and hosting a sit-down dinner or birthday party. She worked tirelessly to provide care and quality of life for her beloved mother, June, and sister, Kathy, in their times of need.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Ruskin and June Evelyn (Banta) Stovall; sister, Kathy (Stovall) Smith; and brother-in-law, David Smith.

Janice is survived by her three sons, Dale Plumley, and wife DeeDee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Doug Plumley, and wife Pam of Tuttle, Oklahoma; and Clay Plumley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Lauren, Jayce, and Peyton; sister, Peggy Rittenhouse, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Janice will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at Huber-Benson Funeral Home, 100 S. Barker Ave. El Reno, OK 73026. All are welcome.
