Nancy Jane Taylor was born on February 21st, 1941, in Chickasha, OK to Frank Green SR of Lavaca, Arkansas and Pearl Bell of Foster, OK. She died on November 17, 2024, in Norman OK.

She attended Dare Public School from 1st through 5th grade and Dibble Schools for 6th grade. She went to school at Chickasha after the passing of her mother Pearl. Nancy met Russell Taylor on a blind date that was set up by Ralph Morgan who was a close friend to Russell's in the Spring of 1954. Russell and Nancy were married at the Central Church of Christ in Chickasha, OK on June 8th, 1957. They moved to Long Beach, California after their wedding in June. In January of 1958 they moved back to Blanchard, OK where Russell went to work for Lucerne Milk, a division of Safeway Grocery Stores. Terry Taylor, the oldest son, was born to Russell and Nancy on October 26th of 1958 while they resided in Blanchard, OK. In 1962 the family moved to Moore then back to Chickasha. During this time Nancy was a dedicated mother and homemaker. This was also when Nancy obeyed the Gospel message while attending 16th & Florida Church of Christ in Chickasha. Nancy and Russell moved to Claremore, OK in July of 1965 as Russell started his first assignment with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The family moved to Norman, OK, in February of 1967. The next move was to Anadarko, OK where Scott Taylor was born in Chickasha, OK on March 30th of 1968. The family continued to move from Lawton and Walters before moving back to Chickasha in August of 1976. Nancy finished her education while living in Walters where she also began her career as an assistant librarian. Nancy also worked as an assistant librarian for Chickasha Jr. High. After working for the public school system, Russell and Nancy began working in the family business at Taylor & Sons Pipe & Steel. Nancy continued to work with the family business until 2004. During these years she dedicated her time to developing of products that were being added to the Company for the steel fencing Industry. This was a special time for Russell and Nancy as they traveled around the country marketing these fencing products at Farm Shows and Trade shows that serviced the farm and ranch steel fencing industry. Nancy continued to support the business by traveling and setting up the booth for the trade shows until 2014.

Nancy was an active member of the Church of Christ and was a very supportive Elders wife for many years. In every community that they resided in she found a way to serve. Nancy was a dedicated servant that found a deep reward in her baking and cooking. She was especially talented at baking bread and cinnamon rolls for all occasions, but especially for the Winter Holidays. She was also very skilled at making Christmas candy which was passed on to her by her stepmom Rosie. Her family found a way to celebrate each of the Holidays with the special food that she prepared. The summertime choice was her homemade ice cream, which was special to us because we had our choice between vanilla and banana. Nancy was also active in her cooking while she assisted the cooks from Chickasha that would help during the week at Lu-Jo KISMIF.

Nancy enjoyed collecting items for home decoration like Light Houses and Owls. She was also an avid collector of Red Fostoria and Clear Fostoria. Nancy and Russell took time to travel both for work and vacation. She especially loved to go to the East coast to see the light houses along the coast of the Northeast part of the US.

Nancy is survived by her husband Russell Leon Taylor of the home; two sons, Terry Taylor and wife Bonnie of Chickasha; Scott Taylor and wife Sharlyn of Chickasha; five grandchildren, Jennifer Slawson and husband Shawn of Rush Springs, Joshua Taylor of Chickasha, Jordan Taylor of Chickasha, Kelsey Baker and husband Drew of Chickasha, Riley Taylor and wife Makenzie of Chickasha; great grandchildren Conner Covington, Ethan and Colton Slawson, Olivia Baker; one sister, Barbara Graham of Euless Texas and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
