Guthrie, OK - Naomi "Faye" West was born on May 8, 1935, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025.

Faye graduated in 1952 from Friend School in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where she attended all 12 years. She played basketball and softball. After graduation, she worked at Travelers Insurance Company and Oklahoma A&M Research Station. Faye married Gilmore W. West Jr. on May 29, 1954. They lived in Texas, Chickasha, and Del City before retiring to Harrah, Oklahoma. They raised their three daughters Donna, Deborah, and Deanna. In their spare time they enjoyed church, camping, and traveling. After her husband's death in 1995, she moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma, and lived there for 30 years. She traveled with friends and went on several cruises. She volunteered with the election board, Meals on Wheels, and the Oklahoma Territorial Museum in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Faye was an avid reader and loved history. She was a self-taught painter, seamstress, and quilter.

She accepted the Lord at age 21, and was active in the Baptist church as a Sunday school teacher for years. Admired by her daughters for taking them to church until her husband became a Christian, then attended as a family.

Naomi Faye West was preceded in death by her husband Gilmore W. West, Jr.; parents George and Leola Carpenter; and brother George "Pete" Carpenter. Survivors include daughters Donna (David) Drury, Deborah Cooter, and Deanna (Marty) Dixon; grandchildren Dedra Case, Caleb Dixon, Davis Drury, Chase Cooter, Collin Dixon, Caylee Johnson, and Lance Cooter; 9 great-grandchildren; and her loyal dog Sam.

A graveside service was held at Amber Cemetery in Amber, OK, on Monday, May 19th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
