Chickasha - Mrs. Nellie Elizabeth (DeHart) Miller entered her eternal rest and ultimate healing, passing from this life into heaven on June 18, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born on January 13, 1944 to Clyde Martin DeHart Sr. and Mildred (Hickman) DeHart in Chickasha, Oklahoma.


Nellie attended Chickasha schools and graduated with honors from Chickasha High School in 1962. She studied art at USAO and earned an Associate degree in Medical Lab Technology from Pikes Peak Technical College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a certified coding specialist and managed several doctor's offices and clinics. She served on several boards, including the board of Southwest Youth and Family Services.


She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Chickasha. She was on the Missions Committee, sang in the choir, taught children's choir, participated in the Singing Christmas Tree and various plays, led Women's and Prayer Ministries, taught Sunday School and mentored many young women in the various churches that she was a part of over the years.


Nellie was a beautiful and kind woman with a ready smile. She loved the Lord Jesus and loved to share about Him with others. She genuinely cared about people and was always ready to help anyone in need. She was very talented and creative. She loved to sing, played guitar and had a talent for art. She was a wonderful and supportive sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a very affectionate woman who loved her family deeply and was always ready with a hug and a listening ear.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Martin DeHart Sr. and Mildred L. DeHart; and sister, Sylvia DeHart Boothe.


She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Bill Miller; daughter Traci Elkins Powell (husband Jamie); son, William Earl Elkins Jr. (wife Crystal); step-daughter Shelbie Mondoux (husband Mike); step-son, Darren Miller; step-daughter Sherilyn Miller (partner Jeff Howard); and step-son Tim Miller. Seven grandchildren: Kathryn Powell Cannon (husband Andrew), William Earl Elkins III (wife Stephanie), Reagan Elkins (wife Madison), Noah Elkins (wife Alice), Caleb Powell (wife Ryanne), Kaitlin Mondoux, Cortlan Savage (wife Angelis), and great grandchildren: Taylor Mondoux, Stevie Elkins, Elijah Cannon, Indiana Elkins, Hannah Elkins, Rosie Elkins, Liv Elkins, Judith Elkins, Ernest Elkins, Winifred Elkins, Theo Elkins, Samwise Elkins; Brother Clyde Martin DeHart Jr. (wife Kaye); Brother Blake DeHart (wife Sue Nelle); Sister Betty DeHart Stamps (husband Neil); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Funeral service for Nellie Miller will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
