Paul  Powell
Paul L. Powell, age 72, of Chickasha was born the son of D.L. Powell and Anna May Ray Powell on June 10, 1947 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He died on March 25, 2020 at his home in Chickasha.
Paul was raised in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. Upon graduation, he went to OSU and graduated with a degree in accounting. He married Edlynn K. Ladd on December 28, 1968 and they were married for fifty-one years. Paul held a variety of jobs during his life. After college graduation, he worked as an accountant and building supervisor for Perdue Housing Industries. He farmed with his father-in-law James Scott. Most recently, he was the broker/owner of Chickasha Realty. Paul served on the Chickasha City Council for 12 years, only missing one planning session during that time. He was very civic minded and served on many boards. He most recently served as President of the Brookridge Townhouse Association. Paul loved sports all through school and watched every game his son played. Later, he enjoyed watching sports on TV. Paul was a great friend and a help to many people. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, D.L. Powell.
Survivors include his spouse Edlynn Powell of the home; mother Anna May Powell of Chickasha; brother Pete Powell and wife Kathi of Oklahoma City; son Justin Powell and wife Tiffany of Mason, OH and their children Jewell and Reid; brother-in-law Eddie Ladd and wife Linda of Blanchard; sister-in-law Elizabeth Richards and husband Tom of Oklahoma City.
Due to the current pandemic situation, there will be no public service. Arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.

Edlynn:: I was so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. What a shame that our current situation prevents u and his family and friends from getting to celebrate his life as we should, but please know I will be keeping u and ur family in my prayers and ask that God walk with u during this most difficult time.
