Phyllis Jo Bennett Norfleet
July 22, 1943 - April 20, 2026
Funeral for Phyllis Bennett Norfleet, age 82, will be at College Heights Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK on May 1, at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. Bryan Haynes officiating. Visitation will be May 1, 12:00 until service time. Phyllis passed from this life April 20, 2026 at home in Chickasha, Ok. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery, Waurika, OK under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home.
Phyllis Jo Bennett was born July 22, 1943 in Waurika, OK to Obed and Ethel "Fulton" Bennett. Phyllis graduated from the 8th grade at Claypool, OK. She graduated high school at Waurika High School. She received her Associates Degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Ok. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Southeastern State University in Durant, OK. Phyllis retired in 2002 after a teaching career of 38 years.
During her childhood Phyllis was a member of the Claypool Community Church. Later she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika, and later at First Baptist East in Lawton. She was currently a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael Norfleet, her son, Joe Bandy of Alpharetta, GA, her grandchildren, Blaise Fulton Bandy, Harlow Bandy, and Rainn Bandy. A sister, Ginger Wilson of Chickasha and a niece Melea Wilson of Edmond, OK.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Obed and Ethel Bennett and her brother-in-law Roy Wilson, Jr. Phyllis was a wonderful Christian lady and an excellent teacher. She loved helping others, she was always sweet and always caring to anyone she met. She is at home with Jesus and no longer hurting, but she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
