Choctaw, OK - Ron Sterkel was born on July 15, 1947 in Prague, Oklahoma, to Doris (Frazier) Sterkel and Reynold Sterkel. He grew up in rural Oklahoma and lived most of his life in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Ron married Debi (Little) Sterkel on June 13, 1970. His career was primarily in oil and gas in Oklahoma. Ron loved traveling and all Sooner sports. He visited many different places in North and South America and particularly loved going on cruises with as many family members as possible. Ron loved his pets and had several throughout his life including Missy, Brandy, Kitty, and Bailey. He had a green thumb and took pride in making his yards beautiful. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister- Sandi Reed, his younger brother- Richard Sterkel, and each of his cherished pets. He is survived by his wife- Debi Sterkel, his daughter and son-in-law- Marcia and Daniel Segura, his son and daughter-in-law- Scott and Leslie Sterkel, his older sister- Janet Matheson, and many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
