Memorial services for Timothy Dwain McClure, 63, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the First Christian Church in Chickasha.
Timothy Dwain McClure was the 3rd child born to Dwain McClure and Marieta Luttrell in Oklahoma City on May 13th, 1956. Tim was always proud to say he was a Mother's Day Baby! He grew up in Oklahoma City and moved to Tuttle before 9th grade. Tim went to Heaven on January 31st, 2020 at the age of 63.
He was always a fun-loving kid who liked to tinker with things and take them apart to see how they worked. He learned a lot about electronics doing this. Tim gave his heart to the Lord when he was 17, and it made a lifelong impact.
In high school he enjoyed showing pigs in FFA, track, and football. After HS, Tim attended OSU Tech OKC studying electronics.
Tim and Pam were high school sweethearts and were married in Tuttle on March 21st, 1975. They would have celebrated their 45th anniversary this March.
Tim was a hard worker and had many jobs: He worked in construction, at a machine shop, at Braum's Dairy, Wonder Bread, and Cain's Coffee as a route salesman. He was a computer programmer, an innovator, a certified real estate appraiser, and an entrepreneur with the most brilliant mind.
Tim was always thinking and coming up with new ideas. Almost daily he would say, "I just had the greatest idea!" Tim had many ideas for businesses and he and Pam had many successful businesses, including; 1st Choice Home Video, Tempa Publications, Instant Winner Machines, Photo Express, Memories Studio, The Hot Sheet, Midwest Appraisal Service, and their current business is Medallion Mint, LLC.
He helped with the Royal Ambassadors for boys at church and was a Boy Scout leader. He was an accomplished graphic designer.
One of his favorite trips was down the Amazon River in Peru cruising along in an "African Queen" type boat, visiting villages and exchanging gifts. Going to Hawaii 13 times, that was a favorite too.
He loved animals, particularly peacocks and zebras. He had 2 Maltese dogs that he was best pals with. Flying in a helicopter, gardening, riding his motorcycle, driving his family in one of his boats, fishing, and anything that included spending time outdoors were what made him happy. He was always a prankster and a joker and loved magic tricks.
Tim was the biggest fan ever of the New York Yankees and enjoyed all things baseball. He always made sure he took his family to see the Yankees play every year. He made numerous trips to Yankee Stadium over the years with his Dad, son Kyle and last one included his youngest grandson last October to the first playoff game.
Tim's favorite thing of all was spending time with his kids and grandkids. Family was what his world revolved around. He interacted with them in every way. They were his pride and joy.
After Tim's diagnosis of Glioblastoma Brain Cancer in May of 2018 he started giving away medallions to encourage people with the Bible verse inscribed on it: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 1st Corinthians 4:13. Thousands of them were given away during the time he had cancer. He gave them to everyone he saw, literally. It made Tim happy when people received them. He felt like that was his purpose in life. His wish was for his family to continue handing them out to encourage people who were hurting or struggling. He was always a very generous person.
He was preceded in death by: His Dad, Dwain McClure; Step-Mom, Betty McClure; Brothers, Terry McClure and Bobby Phillips; Grandparents, Roy and Pearl McClure; Clarence and Lynn Williams; Opal Williams; Father-in-law, Gene Douglas; Uncle Lavern and Aunt Elinore McClure; Uncle Donald McClure and Aunt Jeannie.
