Chickasha, OK - Willie V. "Bear" Bryant Sr.

September 25, 1947 - October 27, 2025

Willie V. "Bear" Bryant Sr., 78, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away on October 27, 2025. Born on September 25, 1947, in Chickasha, he was the son of Roy and Clara Bryant.

A proud member of the Chickasha High School Class of 1966, Willie entered the United States Army in 1968, serving honorably in Germany and Vietnam until 1971. He later continued his education through the Job Corps in San Antonio and earned certification in Electrical Maintenance and Technology from Oklahoma State Technical College in Okmulgee.

Willie enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Mobil Oil Corporation, where he worked for more than 30 years. Known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and technical skill, he was a respected coworker and someone who always "got the job done right."

Outside of work, Bear truly lived life. He loved hunting, fishing, dominoes and card games, grilling for loved ones, and sharing laughter with his large circle of family and friends. His quick wit, warm smile, and good-natured teasing made every gathering brighter. If you were with Bear, you were guaranteed a laugh.

He will be remembered as a man of integrity, a loyal friend, and a loving father and grandfather whose humor and kindness touched everyone around him.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Clara Bryant; his children Chaundra Dixon (Michael), Willie Bryant Jr., Kala Alexander, Gala Jordan, Adrea Smith-Evans (Lance), and Tina Dorn-Mathis (Kenya); and his grandchildren Samiya, MJ, Manny, Demetria, Deshone, Denise, Desha, Damara, Lashara, Taeyona, Deron, Dante, Lamarya, Gabrielle, Dominique, and Reiven. He is also survived by his siblings Leroy Bryant, Jan Hilburn (Julius), Vanessa Palmer, Wanez Fletcher (Amiel), Pam Ates, Felecia Graham (Michael), and Chris Bryant; special cousins Michael Lolar and Glenn Levan; his aunts Violet Lolar and Lorretta Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores Terrell Bryant, and his father, Roy Bryant.

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation for the love, support, and shared memories during this time. Bear's spirit, laughter, and love will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. May we honor his memory by living with the same humor, kindness, and loyalty he showed every day.
